The Law Firm of Tamara N. Holder, LLC has given notice to NorthShore University HealthSystem that we will be filing six (6) additional lawsuits as soon as the courts reopen following the coronavirus pandemic. We allege NorthShore, as well as Swedish Covenant Hospital, allowed gynecologist Fabio Ortega to operate unchecked, and disguise his sexual assaults as medically necessary vaginal, anal and breast exams.
Currently, we have two (2) pending lawsuits against Swedish, and three (3) against NorthShore pending in Cook County, Illinois where we alleged the OBGYN sexually assaulted a new mother and other trusting female patients.
Ortega worked at NorthShore and Swedish from the 1980s until his arrest for sexual assault in 2017.
Recent news reports have exposed sexual predator doctors across the country.
This week, it was reported that University of Michigan doctor Dr. Richard Anderson, who worked at UM between 1968-2003 as the director of health services, as well as a team physician until he retired in 2003, might have sexually assaulted hundreds of students. Anderson, who is deceased, is accused disguising his sexual assaults as medically necessary exams, including penis, prostate, and hernia checks.
